HYTORC Offset Links Technology

The HYTORC Offset Link cassette replaces the torque arm of the hydraulic wrench or torque wrench. For use with hydraulic torque wrenches, only the coaxial square models are compatible. The system is based on a gear train encapsulated in a frame that can be fitted with a lateral reaction arm. The last sprocket is in a removable link and has the 12-sided female cavity to the size of the nut or bolt to be tightened.

The two sizes ofHYTORC Offset Links for 3/4″ and 1″ square drive have eight link sizes each compatible for bolts ranging from 30 to 80mm on flats. The reaction grooves of the clamping tool being taken in the frame, this one is equipped with a lateral reaction arm which will take back the effort without adding height. Simply mount it on one side for tightening and on the other for reversing and switching to loosening.

Because the size of the links varies with the size of the footprint, the pinion has a specific diameter for each size resulting in a torque factor. In most cases, a tool that develops more torque than the force to be applied to the bolt is required because of this gear ratio between the frame and the link pinion (consult us for more information).

Offset Link HYTORC without Reaction Arm

Each of the interchangeable links is also provided with a chiselled indentation on its fixed part to be able to take the reaction on a HYTORC reaction washer and take advantage of all the benefits of this technology for bolted assembly. Thus the body of the HYTORC Offset Link cartridge is held in position by resting on the contour of the reaction washer and the side arm does not need to be mounted in this case.

The links are held to the frame of the remote cassette by 2 screws. When the reaction arm is used, one of the two screws is also used to hold the side reaction arm. Whether you want to reverse tightening/untightening or change the size of the link, you can easily remove these two hex head screws to free both the link and the reaction arm.

Like the coaxial reaction arms, the HYTORC Offset Links cartridges are compatible with a multitude of HYTORC clamping tool models. They can be used with ICE and AVANTI hydraulic wrenches, LST, BTM and LION battery-powered electric screwdrivers, as well as DIGITAL JGUN pneumatic screwdrivers and J-GUN single- and double-speed screwdrivers, to meet all your needs on site and in the workshop.
