Following the success of its first range of pneumatic torque screwdrivers, HYTORC created a division dedicated to screwdrivers called TORQUE GUN Company in 2009. The JGUN Dual Speed pneumatic screwdriver adds a high speed to the first line of torque screwdrivers allowing it to reach 465 rpm. Since the speed of an air-operated gearbox is not as fast as that of a bolting machine, the addition of an approach speed on the JGUN screwdrivers was a convincing move to controlled tightening.
This makes it possible to install and tighten bolts quickly and precisely, even in the ATEX zone. The JGUN Dual Speed pneumatic torque screwdriver adds this approach speed to all the advantages of the JGUN Single Speed on models from 3/4″ square to 1 1/2″ and covering torques from 265 to 11,200 N.m.

By switching to approach speed, the JGUN Dual Speed pneumatic torque screwdriver reaches up to 465 rpm to set bolts or finish removing them after they’ve been released. When installing bolts, little effort is required to advance the nut along the threaded rod or turn the screw in the threaded hole. Similarly, when disassembling, once the bolts have been released and the assembly is no longer under stress, little torque is required to bring the nuts back to the end of the threaded rod or pull the screws out of the tapped holes. Low-torque high-speed is particularly useful in these time-consuming phases of maintenance operations.
The advantage of the Dual Speed version of this JGUN HYTORC is the ability to disengage one stage of the gear train to retain more motor speed and move the bolt forward quickly when fitting or removing it. The change is made by simply turning a knurled ring around the gearbox. Approach speed is at reduced tightening torque to avoid damaging the seal on a sealing flange assembly, for example. The selector shifts a pinion by one stage on the planetary gears and the gear ratio is automatically reduced in torque, but what’s interesting here is that the speed reduction is significantly lower. The change is made without dismantling the reaction arm or the clamping accessory dedicated to the operation to save even more time and limit handling for the operator.
