HYTORC Impact Sockets
To guarantee the safety of your operators, a high resistance socket like the HYTORC Shock Sockets is recommended but not only. If the risk of breaking the socket is limited compared to the use of impact wrenches or other bolting machines, it is necessary to make sure that the socket is well maintained on the square drive of the hydraulic wrench for example. For this purpose, the conducting squares of both HYTORC wrenches and HYTORC torque screwdrivers are drilled and the sockets are supplied with a pin and an elastic ring. Simply pass the pin through the bores of the socket and the tool, then lock it with the elastic ring that fits into the groove of the socket, and you have a secure and integral tool + socket clamping system.
Types of standard HYTORC impact sockets
Because bolted joints are diverse and varied, so is the HYTORC range of impact sockets. It is thus possible to tighten conventional hexagon head screws, BTR screws, standard hexagon nuts, even if the threaded rod protrudes several centimeters above. So there are male hexagon sockets, female 6- and 12-sided short sockets and long socket versions. All industrial screw heads and nuts intended to be tightened to torque have a corresponding standard impact socket. We can put together socket sets to accompany your HYTORC clamping tools.
There are also male sockets with interchangeable tips to limit the costs due to the wear of the male sockets which can end up rounding off over time.
HYTORC quick-acting sockets
To improve productivity during maintenance operations, it is important to be able to position theclamping accessory easily on the bolt to be tightened or loosened and this is not always easy with 6 or 12 hexagon sockets. With hydraulic wrenches, the operator can still bring the reaction arm back to rest once the socket is in place before starting the wrench to limit the risk of pinching. With torque screwdrivers, the gear train requires a great effort to turn the reaction arm in relation to the square and therefore to the socket, so it is impossible to press the arm before starting the torque screwdriver, whether it is electric or pneumatic. So with screwdrivers or where there is little space, a quick profile socket can be used which offers 30° of freedom to lower the tool onto the nut or screw head and press the reaction arm without having to do any special handling.
Special impact sockets
If you have a particular application or specific bolting, HYTORC may have already made an impact bushing somewhere in the world for the same type of need that we can offer you without further study. However, if the case presented is unusual, we are able to study for you the sleeve corresponding to your bolt and allowing to tighten it in its environment to the required torque, do not hesitate to contact our technical service for that.
