The Tightening Calculator that we put at your disposal free of charge allows you in a few clicks to select the right tool for the tightening to the torque that you have to perform. After choosing the HYTORC hydraulic wrench from your fleet of equipment or identifying the tool you will need to rent or buy, the Calculator will tell you the pressure to set on the pump to apply the desired torque. There are two possible functions: the Bridle Calculator which is the most advanced and the Simple Calculator.
We wanted this calculator to be as simple as possible so that it is useful and allows you to quickly get an answer and a result without having to look for papers or get out a calculator. With a lot of visuals you will be able to know the setting of your pump for the torque you have been asked to apply to the bolts to be tightened. If you don’t have an idea of the torque for your operation but a tensioning effort, you will be able to determine a torque based on the grease you have available to put on the bolt. Finally, if you only know the size of your bolts and their material, you’ll be able to play with the percentage of use you want and the lubrication to determine the torque first and then the hydraulic wrench to use, with the pressure setting given automatically.
The idea of the Flange Calculator is to give you a summary sheet of all the useful information for the tightening on the building site and that this sheet guides you in the tightening operation. This synthetic, visual sheet summarizes all the information on the flange bolts: number of bolts, diameter, dimension on flats and material, then all the information on tightening intensity: percentage of use, coefficient of friction, tension and tightening torque, plus the corresponding pressure to be set on the pump. Finally, depending on the number of hydraulic wrenches used at the same time, the flange sheet will summarize the tightening sequence with the number of passes to be made and for each the torque and pressure setting for the selected wrench model. Visually we find the flange diagram with the numbering of the bolts corresponding to the sequence.
This very quick and easy tool allows you to find out the torque and pressure setting for a specified bolt size. You choose the size and material of the bolt, its percentage of use and the lubrication you will apply to it and the Calculator gives you the resulting Torque. Then you just have to select the hydraulic wrench among all the HYTORC range and the Tightening Calculator will present you a summary sheet with the pressure to be set to apply the torque determined with these few parameters.
