The MXT hydraulic torque wrench is the world’s best-selling hydraulic torque tool with more than 100,000 units in operation on 5 continents. Since 1995, the “blue frame” signature is a guarantee of quality, durability and reliability on all major industrial sites. The first HYTORC model to have the large teeth anti-return system (a ratchet) to compensate for the torsion of the bolts.
The evolution of the XLT family of hydraulic wrenches, most models have adopted the ergonomic MXT design with its rounded shapes and improvements such as the push-button-locked reaction arm. The MXT / XLT range is equipped with square drive sizes from 1/2″ to 2″1/2 to develop torques up to 71 000 Nm.
These hydraulic wrenches have a one-piece frame for greater strength and a 360° adjustable reaction arm to accurately tighten or remove the most difficult bolts.

The MXT hydraulic torque wrench (and XLT models) incorporates the Anti-Return System for greater efficiency in each cylinder cycle.
If the tightening is completed at the end of the wrench’s piston stroke, the torsion accumulated in the bolt may try to pull the sleeve and therefore the ratchet back, while the Anti-Return system prevents it. The key is thus locked on the bolt. The MXT and XLT wrenches are equipped with 2 levers that allow the mechanism to be disengaged and the tool to be released without effort.
The MXT hydraulic wrench (and XLT models) has a square drive spline to transmit torque between the wrench and the socket. It can therefore be replaced by a direct splined sleeve in applications with limited space.
The hydraulic torque wrench is powered by a set of twin hoses and to provide good tool positioning conditions for the operator, the MXT wrench is equipped with a 2-axis 360° x 180° hydraulic turret. This double swivel connection allows the operator to work in better conditions and without damaging or bending the 700 bar hydraulic hoses.
On the MXT hydraulic torque wrench the adjustable reaction arm rotates 360° with a locking trigger. The arm is the part of the wrench that provides a critical fulcrum for creating torque. The orientation of the reaction arm is decisive in order to be able to rest on a solid and fixed object, both when tightening and loosening. A spring-loaded locking lever makes it easy to disengage the arm and reposition it as correctly as possible and very quickly.
The keys in the range that have kept the XLT name have 3 notable differences from the MXTs:
The MXT series is distinguished by its blue anodized color and its rounded shape that favors ergonomics for the operator on his workstation or site.
